Over the years I’ve learned weddings don’t always have to be about forced smiles and boring poses. They can be captured in a fun, relaxed manner, documenting those once in a lifetime moments ensuring they last forever.
Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and I feel its important for you to know more about the person thats going to spend the day with you from the make-up being applied right up to the first dance.
I’m a wedding photographer in Lancashire and have been shooting photography over 14 years now, I studied video production but very soon after finishing that found a greater passion for photography. In 2008 I was offered a position with P&O cruises as a photographer, this gave me the opportunity to combine my love of photography with travel. The bug for travelling has stuck with me ever since taking me to places including America, Canada, Mexico, Norway & much of Europe.
I’d also love to hear about any destination weddings you are planning, I never shy away from an opportunity to see more of the world!
I’ve also combined my photography with my passion for music which has led me to photograph artists such as Manic Street Preachers, Kiefer Sutherland, Ash, Editors and Sir Cliff Richard to name a few!
I live in Morecambe with my beautiful wife Sarah in our little home, sharing it with our lunatic cocker spaniel Vada (its also a 5 minute walk from the seaside and the best views over Cumbria & the Lake District you could imagine!) We love travelling, exploring and making each other laugh, I’ve lived in Lancashire all my life and couldn’t think of anywhere I’d want to spend more time.
I’ve been shooting weddings for years, but late 2019 I decided to really pursue it and created This is Richard Wedding Photography after starting to realise just how much I love all the unique moments that make up a wedding. This is why I offer an all inclusive all day package for a flat price, so you have me all day to capture the magic and leave lasting memories.
I shoot weddings in a natural, documentary, reportage style, I don’t force moments to happen. I try to blend into the background as much as possible and disappear among the guests, quietly and professionally capturing your day with little intrusion.
I’ve also been known to lend a hand with the lacing of the dress, organising the grooms party when things get a little messy, sitting on a 3rd floor window ledge for the right shot and rescuing a wedding veil from a tree!
