I’m Richard, a wedding photographer covering Manchester, Greater Manchester and the North West. I photograph the laughs, chaos, people and little moments that actually make your wedding yours — with minimal fuss and absolutely no desire to turn your day into a photoshoot.

You’ve planned a wedding because you want to spend the day with your favourite people. That’s exactly what I want you to do.
My approach to Manchester wedding photography is documentary-led and relaxed. Most of the time I’m simply watching for what’s happening — the reactions, ridiculous dance moves, nervous moments, hugs, tears and everything happening around the edges.
When you need a bit of direction, I’ll give it. We’ll get the family photographs organised and take a little time for portraits of the two of you, but we’ll do it efficiently so you can get back to the wedding.

The best wedding photographs normally happen when you're actually enjoying yourselves. So rather than constantly stopping the day, I work around it.

Portraits without the performance
We'll get great photographs of the two of you, but you won't be asked to spend an hour pretending to laugh at each other in a field.
Family photos kept simple
The important group photographs matter. We'll organise them quickly and efficiently rather than letting them take over your afternoon.

Manchester gives you everything from city-centre architecture to huge historic spaces and relaxed countryside venues just outside the city.
Stock Farm Barn weddings
Stock Farm Barn is exactly the sort of venue that suits the way I photograph weddings: relaxed, social and with plenty happening throughout the day.
I’ve photographed real weddings here, so I already know how to work around the venue without dragging you away from your guests every five minutes.
The Monastery Manchester weddings
The Monastery is one of those Manchester venues that immediately gives photographs a sense of scale and atmosphere.
The architecture is obviously incredible, but I'm still looking for the people and moments within it rather than producing a gallery full of photographs of the building.
Castlefield Rooms weddings
Castlefield gives us a completely different backdrop — brick, canals, bridges and unmistakably Manchester surroundings right outside the venue.
It's ideal for taking a short wander for photographs without turning your wedding portraits into a massive production.
Black Friar Manchester weddings
For a more urban wedding, Manchester gives you brilliant options like Black Friar and the surrounding city streets.
City weddings work particularly well with my approach because we can use what's already around us, spend a few minutes making portraits and then get you straight back to the party.

Do you photograph weddings throughout Manchester?
Yes. I photograph weddings across Manchester city centre and Greater Manchester, including Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Tameside, as well as venues throughout the wider North West.
Have you photographed Manchester wedding venues before?
Yes. My Manchester-area work includes weddings at venues such as Stock Farm Barn, The Monastery Manchester, Castlefield Rooms and Black Friar. The photographs on this page are from my own Manchester wedding work.
What is your wedding photography style?
Natural, relaxed and documentary-led. I spend most of the day photographing what's genuinely happening rather than manufacturing moments for the camera. I'll still give you straightforward direction whenever it's useful.
Do you still take family photographs?
Absolutely. Documentary photography doesn't mean ignoring the photographs that matter. We'll organise the important family groups efficiently so everyone can get back to enjoying the wedding.
Will we get photographs of just the two of us?
Yes. We'll usually take a short walk together and create some relaxed portraits without disappearing from your guests for ages. You don't need to know how to pose — that's my problem, not yours.
How many wedding photographs will we receive?
A full wedding normally produces around 500–800 individually edited photographs delivered through a private online gallery. Every wedding is different, so the final number varies naturally.
