Iona & Ellis | Wyresdale Park Wedding Photographer

There’s something about Wyresdale Park that makes it such a brilliant place for a wedding. Set in the Lancashire countryside with the Trough of Bowland on the doorstep, it has plenty of space, beautiful light and loads of opportunities for natural wedding photography.

Iona and Ellis’ wedding was a relaxed, fun-filled day with plenty of time spent with family and friends, and lots of those little moments that make a wedding worth photographing.

A relaxed Wyresdale Park wedding

I spent the day photographing everything as it unfolded, from the bigger moments to the smaller interactions happening around them. Wyresdale Park works particularly well for this style of photography because there are so many different spaces to explore without the day feeling overly staged.

One of my favourite moments happened during the couple portraits in the Atrium. Iona and Ellis were having a few quiet minutes together when Grandad suddenly poked his head around the corner. It was completely unplanned and such a sweet little moment – exactly the sort of thing I love catching during a wedding.

When it came to portraits, I kept things relaxed and gave Iona and Ellis some time together without taking them away from their guests for too long.

The grounds around Wyresdale Park provide plenty of opportunities for natural portraits, with the surrounding Lancashire countryside and Trough of Bowland making a pretty impressive backdrop.

To finish the evening, I took them out into the field for one final photo – a champagne spray.

It seemed like a pretty good way to end the day.
