Ella & Jake - The River Barn, LANCASHIRE

I absolutely adored photographing Ella and Jake’s awesome wedding at The River Barn in Poulton-le-Fylde. It was such a beautifully intimate celebration, full of warmth, laughter, and a genuinely joyful atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this wedding was going to be special!

Ella and Jake had one clear goal for their wedding — a relaxed, fuss-free day surrounded by their favourite people, they simply wanted to celebrate their love in a way that felt true to them. And that’s exactly what they did. The whole day had this effortlessly calm vibe, and it was such a pleasure to photograph.

One of the most heartwarming touches was having their two dogs there for the day — they were very much a part of the celebrations and brought an extra bit of magic and personality to the whole event.

Being part of a day like this changes the way I approach photography. Instead of rushing around trying to capture fast-moving moments, I had the space to observe, connect, and really document the laid-back beauty of it all. I wanted every image to reflect how relaxed and genuine the day was — just Ella and Jake, completely themselves, surrounded by the people (and dogs!) they love most.
